Have you ever wondered what the inside of a hard disk drive looks like? I’ve been messing with computers for quite a few years now and I had never seen the inside of a hard drive until today. The reason being is it literally ruins the drive when you open it, so I don’t recommend doing it on a drive that you intend to salvage or have recovered.
I obtained a PC to take a look at a few months ago and I determined the hard drive was toast. It wasn’t recognized by my many attempts to connect to it, meaning the circuit board had died. The disks would spin up just fine, but it was invisible. In case you’re wondering, it was a Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 500GB drive. So I finally decided today to open it up and have a look inside. I took photos so I could share it with people like you, who apparently have some sort of curiosity of it yourself or else you wouldn’t be reading this or viewing the photos.
So there ya have it. Enjoy!
